What is the difference between wooden and composite sticks?
Wooden sticks are made from Mulberry wood with different materials added to make them stronger. Composite sticks are made from different materials moulded together. For more detailed information please read section on composite sticks.
Are composite sticks legal?
Yes. Following a rule change made by the Federation of International Hockey
(F.I.H) in June 2000 the rules of Hockey were changed to allow composite sticks. However metal or metallic components such as aluminium are not allowed.
Can I use a composite stick with a minor chipping in my stick?
Like any stick, composite or wooden, there will naturally be some minor wear and tear. Minor chipping does not affect the performance of the stick.
Would you recommend a composite stick for a beginner player?
Normally a composite stick is recommended for experienced players as these sticks have a larger rebound and beginners may find them hard to control. However if a new player has a natural skill and instinct for the game then they would be able to use a composite stick.
Is there a left hand field hockey stick?
No, you will only find right hand sticks.
How can I identify the difference between an Indoor and Outdoor stick?
An Indoor stick has a very thin blade and is very light compared to an outdoor stick.
How long will it take for an order to arrive?
We have next day shipping for Ontario anywhere out of Ontario will take 4-5 days standard service. If you want express service this can be done at an extra charge.
How do I maintain my stick?
1. Keep the stick dry. If the stick gets wet wipe it off with a towel.
2. Do not leave the stick in the trunk of the car both in the summer or winter.
3. Replace the tape on the stick. We recommend you use electrical tape as it is waterproof and not to use medical or ice hockey tape as it is cloth and absorbs moisture.
